Inspired by my favorite seminarian blogger Bro Utoy’s most recent “wolf-ish” entry, I, too, decided to momentarily let the “jologs” in me out of the closet to roam about freely in cyberspace…
Yes, it’s been nearly a month into our home leave here in Manila and apart from the “dreaded” medical procedures, you might be wondering what else have I been up to to while away my “precious” holiday time.
Like any other “Pinoy-tv-deprived” OFW spouse, I have been making good (?) use of my free time to surf the telly – and what interesting “finds” have I discovered! Let me share with you my top picks so far courtesy of (you guessed it) my other “family” – the “Kapamilya” station. Read ‘em and weep!
-
LOBO: I’d rather not elaborate too much on this. After all, Bro Utoy already wrote such an “eloquent” piece about it…
As I’ve said before, whatever it lacks in storyline, it more than makes up for in “star power” (hehehe) … especially with its much sought-after lead star, P (and it’s not Pilar Pilapil, huh!). -
MY GIRL: Feel-good, teeny-bopper flicks like this always get me hooked – must be the “perpetual teenager” in me. Never mind that it’s already a spin-off of a Koreanovela with the same title… Kim and Gerald – you’ve got a “fan” in me!
Now if someone would please pass the cornicks to max out the jolog-ish viewing experience… -
GAME KA NA BA?: Game shows which challenge my trivia-laden brain are always a pleasure to watch. Add to this the very entertaining way the show is hosted – by no less than the “Chairman” himself – and I find myself saying “Game Na!” many mornings over.
-
THE SINGING BEE: Now this is the perfect show for those who couldn’t carry a tune yet are mindful of the correct lyrics of songs (like me!). Though Buboy (uy, nickname basis pa – feeling close!) still has much room for improvement in terms of hosting skills, his appropriately-garbed yellow and black “Honey Bees” (the requisite back-up dancers in any Pinoy game show) as well as his “Band-ble Bees” (the band, ladies and gents!) definitely add a witty twist to this otherwise “blah” prime time offering.
-
WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Now, any true-blue kapamilya would never pass up a show with “Ate Kris”, right? If only for her “unique” hosting style, Krissy’s latest show is a definite must-see. Spin it, baby! You know the drill.
My only worry is that when we come back in-kingdom, I might have serious withdrawal symptoms from these new-found faves
Hmmm… if only “someone” would hook us up to the TFC channel too (*hint, hint!*), I would truly be one “satisfied sexpat”.

Jologs is really an understatement for this post.
How judgmental ha!
You have to try watching them first… who knows? You might just join the “jologs” bandwagon soon! Hahaha!

i too am a “kapamilya” like you. unlike papa harvs who’s in between being a kapamilya and a kapuso, hehe. i love game k n b! it’s much more fun and lively now that edu is hosting it!
what?! you don’t have TFC in KSA?! why?! so you have pinoy channel via orbit? kapuso channel? noo!
TFC is available naman but we have to get another satellite thingie for it daw kaya Keith is having second thoughts coz parang di justified yung extra expense for just one channel… Since we both don’t like the Kapuso shows, we also didn’t include the GMA shows in the Orbit package we got. Nooo talaga!!! Waaahh!!
I have to agree – Game KNB is more entertaining now that Edu is the one hosting it

game ka na ba is the only show i can say that i regularly watch from the kapamilya station before we left pinas. it’s where i get to do a bit of brain exercise. hahaha. i liked it even more when edu started hosting it. so nice to see your jologs side, pinks. certified jologs ka talaga kasi kapamilya ka. nyahahaha!
Funny talaga ni Edu, ‘no? Kakaaliw to watch him since he’s very witty and charming without being obnoxious. Certified jologs?

ay pinky, kapuso ako eh (mainly because of eat bulaga, haha!). anyway, yung singing bee ba, is it like the singing bee here sa US? may version kasi niyan dito, hosted by joey fatone (pero na-pullout na kasi di masyadong na-rate
.)
Kung sabagay, Mama Mee, I’ll take EB anytime over Wowowee!
Singing Bee may be a franchise of the US show (am not too sure, though) as ABS CBN admittedly has a penchant for doing such things.
Amen ako sa comment mo on GKNB! Apir tayo!
(Sorry, classmate Kris!)

May TFC kami at GMA.
Kaya nga e…too bad on opposite sides of the Eastern Province tayo.

you were classmates with kris aquino?!
The height of “ka-showbizan”, di ba? Hahaha!
It’s more like “hilaw na classmate” since we were only together in Botany class. It was the time of the “Kris-Binoy” love story then so you can guess how looong ago this was! (Oops, am I giving too much away?!?)
