January 2008

One of the unique presents we received last Christmas was this…

beanie-clock.jpg

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a soft clock! :) It’s actually a beanie-bag type clock which runs on a single AA battery. What I like about it is that it’s particularly “Marga-friendly” – which means I won’t throw a fit if my little girl decides to hurl it across the room   Oh, did I mention that it also tells the correct time (so far!)? Neat, isn’t it?

Oh well, speaking of time, I better get lunch ready soon as my three hungry boys are arriving any minute now – oops!

Till my next (hopefully) more substantial post… ;)

…is how I would describe our 10th year wedding anniversary celebration in Miniloc Island, El Nido, Palawan.

Modesty aside, this is also how I feel about being married to the same wonderful guy whom I’ve known since we were 12, who has given me three equally wonderful children, who has made me laugh with him, at him and at myself countless times, and who has been my rock all these years.

My dear Hon, on our 10th year, these are the ten things I am especially grateful for …

…waking up each morning by your side

…the life we have together

…the memories we continue to build each day

…the lessons we have learned and continue to learn

…how you manage to put things in perspective for me when things get crazy

…your undying sense of humor

…the snippets of you I see in our children

…your genuine concern for people and how you truly care for them

…all the trips we’ve taken together (foodie, sightseeing and everything else in between!)

…being able to look to the future with you still by my side

True, the past ten years may not have been all roses and yet, with you, I can’t help but remain hopeful that things can only get better and that life would definitely be more meaningful.

Love you always.

Pinky

PS Here’s a teaser dear hubby prepared for our Palawan trip.  Do check out our Multiply site for more photos! A word of caution though, before you click on link, you’d have to be in our Multiply posse to view the pics.

…ni Panday? (Nope!) …ni Superman? (You’re getting there…)  …ni Super Inday (aka me) – mismo!!! You nailed it on the head!

As most of you may have already noticed, I am definitely back on Saudi soil and back to “real” life, so to speak.  Real life being full-time wife/mom/cook/yaya/labandera/tutor and (to borrow a phrase from my job description during my “past life”) someone who “assumes all other duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time”. Whew!

Does it sound like I’m complaining? Not really. In fact, I am even surprised that I actually find what I’m doing now a tad more relaxing than our just concluded home leave in Manila (the details of which Keith has so explicitly given in his seven-part blogging saga ;) ).  So far, on top of my usual duties, I have actually managed to unpack 4 of the 6 luggages we brought during our recent holiday – yahoo! Guess this means I could soon move on to my next project: posting our holiday pictures in our Multiply site (abangan!).

In the meantime, Keith has so kindly relieved me of my kitchen duties (by doing take-out) until our household manages to reach some semblance of normalcy.  What’s more, to ensure that I’m in tip-top shape, he and the kids snagged me this belated birthday/Christmas present the day after we arrived…

You could say I literally “fell for this gift” (tripping on the hem of my abaya while we were waiting for the machine to be assembled in the store while attempting to “extricate” Marga from a stationary bike and falling on my naturally padded right side!).  Good thing Marga and I weren’t seriously hurt (except perhaps for my wounded self-image – how embarassing!).  Thankfully, too, I only have a bruised right elbow and aching right tushie to show for this minor accident… ;)

Anyway, I intend to make full use of this gadget so that my next “comeback” would hopefully result in a “leaner, meaner and super-improved” Super Inday!

Till then, wish me luck and “balik-trabaho mona ako, mga koya at ati”…  See y’all soon!

PS Leweiss, just read your email… this one’s for you. :)

Finally found the energy to get back into the blogging groove after a long hiatus.  Guess this means that I’m now resuming my “cyberlife” which I purposedly put on hold for quite a while since we flew back to Manila a month back for the Christmas holidays. :)

While surfing the net a few minutes back, the tv was also on BBC’s “Teletubbies” in the background since Keith and the boys were watching with Marga in the same room.  Funny how my untrained ears can pick up totally different meanings to the words I hear…

Here’s how the scene on the tube went:

Little girl voice (describing her two pet birds while camera was panning on two birds in a garden bird bath separately): “I have two birds…one named ‘Pizza’, one named ‘Pork’…”

Me (looking up from pc distracted at hearing such “unusual” names): “What? Pizza and Pork?”

Luigi (giggling): “Ma, its ‘Peter’ (pronounced ‘Peetuh’) and ‘Paul’ (pronounced ‘Paw’)!”

Hay naku! Ang Pinoy nga naman (like me) – di kasi sanay sa “bloody British accent” e! What a hilarious way to start the day!

Happy new year, everyone! More laughter-filled days ahead!
